How to Create a Jungle Theme in Your Child’s Room

If you are planning to design your kid’s room, you must be thinking what colour should be chosen for the room that makes the place look charming and joyful. Well when it comes to decorate your kid’s room, you should use lots of vibrant colours so that it actually speaks for your child’s taste and creates a vibrant ambiance in the room. The place should also be exposed to natural light and air so that it looks open and fresh.  Through colours and paint you can create and apply different themes in your kid’s room. Here in this post we are going to detail how you can create a jungle theme in your child’s room in order to add a wow factor in the room and make it more thrilling and adventurous.

Create a Jungle Theme in Your Child’s Room

Bring a picture of a jungle in your mind and pick the colours for the theme. You must be thinking of different shades of green, brown, pale yellow and orange. Yes, you are right; these are the colours you need to use to create a true picture of jungle in your kid’s room decor. Now follow the below steps to design different patterns of jungle theme on the walls.

To create a base on walls, you need to paint them in light green colour. Paint the ceiling in pearl white so that the room doesn’t look congested and overstuffed.

Make the sketch of a big leaf on a paper, cut the shape and place it on the wall to draw the shape of a leaf with led pencil. Draw 7 to 8 big leaves on wall and paint them in dark green colour. You can either paint all the leaves on front wall or 2 leaves on each wall. Be careful while painting the leaves so that the paint doesn’t de-shape the leaves by crossing the edges you drew with pencil.

Leave the paint to dry and add a splash of pale yellow and light green on the corners of some leaves to make the look more natural and appealing. You can also add dark olive shade on some leaves for more beauty and diversity. Make sure to use different shades of green on each leaves to create a natural ambiance of a jungle in the room.

Once you are done with big leaves, draw smaller leaves on each corner of the ceiling and paint them with various shades of green and yellow. You can also paint some leaves in brown colour with a splash of beige and orange to provide the look of dried leaves. This way you would be able to add more colours other than green and yellow.

Once you are done with painting, decorate the walls with wild flower and wreaths to create jungle theme in your child’s room. Hang monkeys and other stuffed animals on walls and spread tiger-print bed sheet on your kid’s bed like Alaska Futon bunk bed to make the room more interesting and adventurous.

Furnishing Your Studio Apartment

You face plenty of challenges while designing and furnishing your studio apartment as studio apartments have limited space to accommodate your stuff. In studio apartment, a single room is used as a bedroom and living room both, so you need to be creative enough to decorate your place in such a way that it serves both the functions of a living room and bedroom without spoiling the ambiance. This post is showcasing some amazing tips to furnish and streamline your apartment in order to make it more functional and organized.

Furnishing Your Studio Apartment

Downsize the Furniture

Huge and overstuffed chairs and four-seater couch can make your apartment look congested so you need to downsize furniture items to add spaciousness in the home. The upholstered furniture should be of smaller size for studio apartment. Make sure the upholstered furniture is wrapped in lighter hues of fabric with vertical lines of detail. If you like dark colour, you can place a couple of bright cushions to make the items colourful and attractive.

Flexible Furniture Items

As your studio apartment has limited space, you can accommodate your stuff by adding multi-functional furniture items in your room. There is a huge variety of double-duty furniture items available in the market. For example, you can buy seating cubes which have storage space beneath their upholstered cover and a dining or coffee table with drawers. As your living room and bedroom share the same area, you need to add a multifunctional sofa bed like beautifully designed Manhattan sofa bed that plays the role of sofa in day time serving your place as a living room and transforms into a comfortable bed to creating the true ambiance of a bedroom at night.

Manage Clutter

We love to stuff our home with accessories and ornamented pieces to make our place look beautiful and matchless. But if you have a studio apartment, you need to be very specific in choosing the decor items for your apartment. If you place is stuffed with piles of cushions and accessories, it will make it look congested and will make you and your visitors feel uncomfortable. To make your apartment look open, tidy and well organized, you need to remove the stuff that is making the room messy. For example, if the side table is carrying a cluster of small decor pieces remove them and place a single distinctive piece on it.

Create Comfortable Ambiance

Make the ambiance comfortable and pleasant while furnishing your studio apartment so that your home freshens up your mind when you step inside. As the limited space in your studio apartment doesn’t allow you to add lots of decoration accessories, you can adorn your apartment by pasting beautiful wall papers on walls. Place a handsome piece of rug to enhance the beauty of your place and to make the apartment more comfortable. You can also add a sleek and trendy relaxing chair to sit on in a comfortable position while working on your laptop or reading newspaper in the morning.
